How long have you been involved in the equine industry?

I’ve been involved in the industry most of my life, I started riding as a child and I knew very early on it’d be my future career. I took online classes for high school which allowed me many opportunities to take riding and barn jobs, show, and be a large part of my horses day to day. By the time I was 16, I was doing self care and doing everything for my horses on my own. I look back at that now and see what a fantastic opportunity that was!

What services do you offer?

KMB Equestrian specializes in training and sales. Though I do have a handful of super lovely boarders as well. Right now I have a ton of young horses in and I’ve found that it’s one of my favorite jobs to do, there is something so rewarding about producing young horses from the ground up.

Where is your business located?

I am located in Hume, VA

Do you specialize in a specific discipline or breed?

I am a hunter barn with the occasional jumper as well. I have always specialized in OTTB’s, but we have a vast array of horses here at all times. Warmbloods, TB’s, ponies, we do it all!

Do you have any horses of your own?

I have 4 horses of my own! I have 2 retirees, my 5 year old hunter, and a mini who is the most fantastic baby sitter.

What is your favorite thing about your business?

My favorite thing about my business is the opportunity to meet so many different horses from all different backgrounds. It’s a very special training process with each and every horse, they’re all so unique and it’s something new everyday.

Do you have any future goals for your business?

My main future goal for my business is to continue to grow the sales side of the business. I’ve set a focus on sales/consignment this year and so far we’ve sold every horse this year within 2-3 weeks of listing them, to the perfect homes!

Do you have any hobbies you enjoy doing outside of your business?

My hobbies outside of my business are usually still horse related, if I’m not in the barn you can usually find me working on my other 2 business’s building equestrian business websites and equine nutrition consulting. Outside of horses I enjoy things like trying new restaurants, baking, hiking, and weekend beach trips!
